Aniseed China Star Essential Oil
Latin Name : Illicium Verum. Part of Plant Used : Fruit. Source : China. Extraction Method : Steam Distillation. Originally native to Greece and Egypt, now widely cultivated. Description: An annual herb, less than a metre high, with delicate leaves and white flowers. Characteristics: Spicy-sweet scent similar to fennel. Properties: Antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic, expectorant, galactagogue, stimulant, stomachic. Blends well with: bay, cedarwood, eucalyptus, dill, fennel, ginger, mandarin, petitgrain, peppermint, rosemary. Precautions: Avoid use with allergic and inflammatory skin conditions. It is advisable to avoid the use of aniseed oil during breast feeding and pregnancy. Only use in small doses (less than 2% dilution).
